Mitered Squares Scarf (Echarpe en carrés diagonales)

Dans le dernier numéro (hiver 2008) d’Interweave Crochet, j’avais aussi cette écharpe faite de “carrés diagonales” (mitered squares) qui s’imbriquent. La méthode est très simple, et j’aime bien utiliser cette technique avec des fils à rayures, comme les changements de couleurs soulignent la structure de la pièce crochetée.

For the latest issue (winter 2008) of Interweave Crochet I also designed this scarf, constructed with mitered squares flowing into each other. The technique is very simple, and I really like to use it with selfstriping yarn, since the colour changes underline the structure of the fabric.

Cela a aussi été l’occasion pour moi de faire connaissance avec le fil Karaoké de South West Trading Company - un mélange de soja (!) et de laine. Je l’ai trouvé vraiment intéressant et agréable. L’écharpe est travaillée avec un crochet de 6 mm.

This was the first time I used the yarn Karaoké from South West Trading Company - a blend of soy and wool. I found this yarn both interesting and pleasant. The scarf is worked with a 6 mm [US K / 10 1/2] hook.
