16 Sixteen Cable Hat

My friend Circé designed this hat for her birthday. She used a 16 stitch cable, since 16 is her lucky number.

The large cables in this hat drape and flow around your head. You can work it as a traditional hat or as a slouchy beret.

It is a fairly simple knit, with only 4 cable rounds for a really dramatic result.

Pattern includes instructions for 2 brim circumferences, and an extra slouchiness option. Size 1 (in grey in the pictures) is a fitted hat, size 2 (in violet in the pictures) is a beret.

Suggested knitting needles: 4 mm [US 6] (for the ribbing) and 5 mm [US 8] (for the rest of the hat).

Approximative gauge: 19 sts = 10 cm [4"] in ribbing ; 26 sts = 10 cm [4"] in cable pattern.
